Muhammad Ashraf Haqaq takes over as Director Estates; Burhan Hussain joins CM Office as Under Secretary
Srinagar, May 4 |: In accordance with recent government orders, several Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service (JKAS) officers on Monday formally assumed charge of their new postings across various departments of the Union Territory.
On the occasion, officers and staff members of the concerned departments welcomed the newly posted officers and assured them full cooperation in the discharge of official responsibilities.
Muhammad Ashraf Haqaq, who was earlier serving as Administrator, Government Medical College (GMC) Srinagar and its associated hospitals, took over as Director, Estates Department. Upon his arrival, he was received by officers and officials of the department and also held brief interactions regarding ongoing administrative matters.
Burhan Hussain, formerly Culture Officer in the Information Department, assumed charge as Under Secretary in the Chief Minister’s Office. He formally began his new assignment in the presence of officers and staff of the CM Office.
Similarly, Khurshid Ahmad Sanai took charge as Secretary, SSB, and was warmly received by the concerned officials.
Gulzar Ahmad Bhat assumed charge as Administrator, GMC Srinagar and its associated hospitals, while Shabir Ahmad Haqaq took over as Deputy Director, Rural Sanitation Kashmir. Soon after assuming charge, he reviewed ongoing departmental initiatives.
Mohammad Zubair Yatoo, previously posted as Sales Tax Enforcement Officer, Lower Munda, joined as Deputy Director, Information Headquarters. He held brief interactions with officials regarding operational matters.
Meanwhile, Riyaz Ahmad Wani assumed charge as Director, Rural Development Department Kashmir. He convened a brief introductory meeting with senior officers, stressing the need for effective implementation of development programmes.
The postings and transfers are being viewed as part of the administration’s efforts to strengthen governance and improve public service delivery. The officers, while assuming charge, expressed commitment to transparency, efficiency, and people-centric administration.
