Srinagar, June 6: An officer of the Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) has been entrusted with a third responsibility following the retirement of the Chief Sanitation Officer, according to an official order issued on Saturday.
The latest arrangement effectively places three responsibilities under a single officer, with Ahad now looking after his substantive post as Assistant Executive Engineer, the additional charge of In-Charge Executive Engineer, Mechanical City Drainage Division, and the charge of Chief Sanitation Officer.
The move follows the superannuation of Mudasir Hussain Banday, who was serving as Private Secretary and In-Charge Chief Sanitation Officer.
The order also assigns Mushtaq Ahmad Sheikh, Ward Officer of Wards 28 and 29, the additional charge of Sanitation Officer, Zone West, Srinagar.
According to the order, the arrangements have been made on a temporary basis in view of administrative exigencies and will remain in force until suitable officers are posted against the vacant positions by the competent authority.
The order was issued by the Joint Commissioner (Administration), Srinagar Municipal Corporation.
