Dharmendra Pradhan, Sakina Itoo Discuss Quality Education, Institutional Growth and Youth Employability
Srinagar, June 9: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Monday held a comprehensive review meeting with Jammu and Kashmir Minister for Education, Health & Medical Education and Social Welfare, Sakina Itoo, to assess the progress of the education sector and deliberate on measures aimed at further strengthening learning institutions across the Union Territory.
During the interaction, both leaders reviewed the functioning of Teacher Education Institutions and took stock of developments in school as well as higher education in Jammu and Kashmir. The discussions focused on enhancing teacher capacity-building programmes, promoting institutional development, expanding skilling initiatives and implementing reforms to improve the overall quality of education.
The meeting also emphasised the need to build a robust and inclusive education ecosystem capable of equipping students with skills relevant to emerging employment opportunities.
Expressing satisfaction over the encouraging trends in enrolment and learning outcomes, Pradhan highlighted the importance of sustained coordination between the Central Government and the Jammu and Kashmir administration to accelerate educational transformation.
He reiterated the commitment of both governments towards ensuring wider access to quality education, strengthening employability among youth and creating greater academic and professional opportunities for students across the Union Territory.
The deliberations reflected a shared resolve to fast-track educational reforms and empower the younger generation with the knowledge, skills and opportunities necessary for their future growth and success, officials said.
