Jawa Yezdi Motorcycles proudly announces that one of the most respected and intellectual voices in modern Punjabi music, singer, poet and composer Satinder Sartaaj, made a custom Yezdi Roadster his own. His love for the brand was immortalised when he released his cult-hit ‘Yezdi’, picturised on his vintage pastel-green D250 Classic in 2023. He sealed it today with his latest acquisition.
The kinship Sartaaj shares with Jawa Yezdi Motorcycles is not only because of his much-loved song. Just like the company’s approach to contemporising performance classics with engineering depth and lived riding culture, Sartaaj has carved his own path in Punjabi music through artistic integrity and a deep respect for his craft. In a music market dictated by a mass-market formula, he has stayed true to poetry and his rigorous training. The modern Sufi bard has contemporised the soulful fusion of Sufi and Punjabi folk for a global audience without losing their essence.
Anupam Thareja, Co-founder of Classic Legends, said, “Yezdi instinctively understands Satinder’s drive to blend timelessness with individuality. When he celebrated Yezdi in his music, it became a cultural moment for both riders and music lovers. Yezdi is an emotion that has lived generations through stories, memories, music and culture. It has shared an enduring bond with Punjab that Satinder so affectionately captures in his rendition. Our customised Yezdi Roadster pays tribute to his talent, art and our timeless connection with the soil of Punjab and its riding culture.”
The inimitable Satinder Sartaaj said, “When I wrote ‘Yezdi’, it came from a place of affection. Growing up, Yezdi was about the sound, swagger, companionship, and freedom. My song brought its charm closer to a younger audience. The new Yezdi Roadster called out to me when it was launched last year. This feels like coming a full-circle and am thrilled to be a part of a legacy that continues to speak to a new generation.”
Sartaaj’s crowd favourite, “Yezdi”, mixes playful romance and nostalgia for Punjab’s motorcycle culture in true Punjabi folk style, as he rides his Yezdi D250 Classic. Mr. Anupam Thareja presented the special Yezdi Roadster to the cultural icon, with a devoted following across India, spanning the northern states and Gujarat in the west. His home state, Punjab, has always had motorcycling in its blood, and Yezdi continues to remain an inseparable part of its legacy. Legendary artists like Satinder Sartaaj know what it takes to bridge generations and stay true to their craft, just as Jawa Yezdi Motorcycle strives to inspire newer generations while evolving with modern motorcycling culture.
