Baramulla, June 14: Continuing the drive against illegal mining and transportation of minerals, a joint team of Police Post Old Town & Geology & Mining Department Baramulla conducted enforcement operations in the Old Town area.
During the operation, one mini tipper carrying sand without the requisite valid documents was intercepted and seized. In a separate action, another tipper bearing registration number JK02CS-9512 was also seized for transporting sand without valid authorization documents. Accordingly, action under the relevant provisions of the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act (MMDR Act) has been initiated against the violators.
Police, in coordination with the Geology & Mining Department, remains committed to curbing illegal mining activities and ensuring strict compliance with the law.
