“Deliberate efforts underway to distort Kashmir’s reality; NC and PDP involved, backdoor enteries hurting Kashmir talent”

Bandipora, June 28: Claiming that Bollywood has repeatedly portrayed Kashmir through a distorted lens, former MLA Bandipora Usman Majid on Sunday alleged that films such as The Kashmir Files, Dhurandhar, and the latest movie featuring Ajay Devgn’s Chauhan were part of a broader attempt to malign the people of Kashmir.
“Bollywood is making such films in the name of Kashmir to earn money and create controversy.

He alleged that a conspiracy was being hatched at multiple levels to project Kashmiris in a negative light and claimed that regional political parties had also contributed to the problem.
Launching a scathing attack on the National Conference (NC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Majid accused both parties of failing to protect the interests and dignity of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
He alleged that successive governments led by the two parties had ignored public aspirations and weakened democratic institutions.
Referring to the delimitation exercise in comming years, Majid said political representation must remain fair and balanced to ensure justice for all regions and communities of Jammu and Kashmir.
On the issue of employment, Majid criticised outsourcing and alleged “backdoor entries” in government departments, saying such practices were depriving educated youth of their rightful opportunities. He urged the government to ensure transparent recruitment and protect local talent.
Majid also took aim at Bandipora MLA Nizam-ud-Din Bhat, accusing him of failing to resolve public grievances despite being in office for nearly two years. He questioned the pace of development in the constituency and alleged that several promises made to the electorate had not been fulfilled.
Calling for greater public engagement, Majid said political parties must remain connected with the people and work consistently to address their concerns at the grassroots level.
