Srinagar, June 30: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Tuesday filed charge sheets in two separate corruption cases against seven accused persons, including a former Deputy Commissioner (DC) and two police officials, before the competent anti-corruption courts in Jammu and Kashmir.
According to the ACB, the charge sheets relate to two independent cases investigated by the bureau involving allegations of corruption, abuse of official position and criminal misconduct. The accused include a former Deputy Commissioner, two police personnel and four other individuals who allegedly conspired to commit offences under the Prevention of Corruption Act and relevant provisions of the Ranbir Penal Code (RPC).
The bureau said sufficient evidence was gathered during the investigations to establish the involvement of the accused, following which charge sheets were presented before the designated Special Anti-Corruption Courts for judicial proceedings.
The ACB reiterated its commitment to taking strict legal action against corruption and misuse of public office, stating that it remains focused on ensuring transparency, accountability and protection of public resources through fair and impartial investigations.
