Srinagar, July 8: The Jammu and Kashmir administration has tightened regulations for the ongoing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra, urging devotees to strictly follow mandatory registration procedures and travel only on the dates allotted to them to ensure a safe and orderly pilgrimage.
Officials said only pilgrims carrying valid registration for their designated travel date will be allowed to proceed on the yatra routes. Devotees arriving without prior registration or before their scheduled date have been advised to defer their journey and complete the required formalities before travelling. The move comes amid an unusually high influx of pilgrims, prompting authorities to strengthen crowd management and safety measures.
The administration also cautioned pilgrims against relying on limited on-the-spot (Tatkal) registration facilities, stating that the number of available slots is restricted due to the daily cap on pilgrims permitted to undertake the yatra. Authorities have appealed to devotees to cooperate with officials, follow traffic and security advisories, and carry all necessary documents during the pilgrimage.
Officials reiterated that adherence to registration norms is essential for ensuring the smooth conduct of the pilgrimage and the safety of all participants. The administration has urged pilgrims to remain patient, comply with official guidelines, and avoid unnecessary travel without confirmed registration.
