Ganderbal, July 17: A residential house was extensively damaged in a major fire incident that broke out at Khyber Mohalla, Gutlibagh in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Friday, officials said.
The house belonged to Mohd Nawaz Khan, son of Sher Mohd Khan. According to officials, the fire engulfed the single-storey residential house before it was brought under control through the joint efforts of local residents and Ganderbal Police.
Officials said no casualties or injuries were reported in the incident. However, the house was completely gutted, resulting in significant property loss.
The timely response of locals and police personnel prevented the flames from spreading to adjoining structures.
Meanwhile, the concerned authorities have initiated an investigation to ascertain the cause of the fire.
