Sonamarg, July 21: A brown bear accompanied by its two cubs was spotted at Fish Point in the Sonamarg area during the late-night hours, drawing attention from locals and visitors.
Wildlife sightings are not uncommon in Sonamarg due to its close proximity to dense forest areas, which serve as a natural habitat for bears and other wild animals.
Similar sightings have been reported in the past from different parts of the tourist destination.
Authorities and wildlife experts have advised residents and tourists to remain vigilant, avoid venturing close to wild animals, and refrain from attempting to feed or provoke them.
People are urged to maintain a safe distance and immediately inform the Wildlife Department in case of any unusual wildlife movement to ensure the safety of both humans and animals.
