The Bank’s Executive Director Sudhir Gupta presided over a mega distribution camp under Project SAMARTH, implemented in collaboration with the Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO), and handed over a dedicated transport vehicle to the Composite Regional Centre (CRC), Srinagar. The event marked the successful conduct of a mega camp under Project SAMARTH, one of the Bank’s flagship CSR initiatives dedicated to the welfare and empowerment of persons with disabilities. During the day long camp, customized assistive aids and appliances worth Rs 46 Lacs were distributed among over 400 beneficiaries.

Pertinently, through the project, J&K Bank has facilitated the distribution of customized assistive aids and appliances to over 4700 persons with disabilities and senior citizens from economically weaker sections across Jammu & Kashmir and other parts of the country, with a predominant focus on beneficiaries in the Union Territory.

Speaking on the occasion, Executive Director Sudhir Gupta said, “The true measure of an institution’s social commitment lies in its ability to stand beside those who need support the most. At J&K Bank, we view Corporate Social Responsibility not as an obligation but as an extension of our philosophy of socially empowering banking for one and all.”

“The initiatives reflect our enduring commitment to creating meaningful opportunities for persons with disabilities by improving their access to essential support systems. These interventions are aimed at enhancing their independence, dignity and mobility, enabling greater participation in education, employment and community life through devices customized to their individual functional requirements,” he added.

He further said, “Our endeavour is to support initiatives that create lasting social impact, strengthen community institutions and improve the quality of life of vulnerable sections of society. We remain committed to partnering with credible institutions in building a more inclusive and compassionate society.”

Implemented by the Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO) under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, Project SAMARTH has been devised to benefit persons with disabilities across five districts of Jammu & Kashmir besides Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Bengaluru through the distribution of a wide range of customized assistive aids and appliances.
