Srinagar, Aug 7: The Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) has launched an online portal for booking community halls, allowing residents to reserve the facilities digitally without having to visit municipal offices.
The initiative is aimed at making the booking process faster, more transparent and convenient for citizens, while reducing the time and paperwork involved in securing community halls.
According to the SMC, the new system allows residents to check the availability of community halls and make reservations online. The booking process, which earlier could take several days, can now reportedly be completed in around two minutes.
The portal is expected to benefit residents seeking community halls for weddings, condolence gatherings, social functions and other events.
The digital system also brings the availability and booking process online, helping citizens avoid repeated visits to municipal offices and providing greater clarity over reservations.
The SMC said the initiative is part of its efforts to strengthen citizen-centric services and promote digital governance in Srinagar.
The launch is expected to streamline the management of community halls while making the facilities more accessible to residents.
With the introduction of the online booking system, citizens can now access community hall services digitally, marking another step towards expanding online civic services in Srinagar.
