Srinagar, Aug 28: Senior IPS officer M.K. Sinha on Friday took charge as the Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Jammu and Kashmir, following a major reshuffle of senior police officers in the Union Territory.
Sinha, a 1996-batch IPS officer, has been transferred from his previous posting as ADG Headquarters at J&K Police Headquarters. He succeeds Nitish Kumar, who has been posted as ADG Armed Police, J&K.
Soon after assuming charge at the CID headquarters, Sinha chaired a meeting with senior officers and reviewed the functioning of the department and its intelligence-related activities, officials said.
Sinha has held several key assignments during his career, including Inspector General of Police, Jammu, in 2018. He has also served in various operational and supervisory positions in the J&K Police.
The reshuffle has also brought changes in other senior police postings. Sujit Kumar has been appointed IGP Kashmir, while Tejinder Singh has been posted as IGP Jammu. Bhim Sen Tuti has been moved to the post of IGP Headquarters, while other changes have been ordered in the Security, Armed Police, Railways and Anti-Corruption Bureau wings.
The transfers and postings were ordered by the Jammu and Kashmir administration with immediate effect.
