Udhampur, Sep 10: The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has approved construction of six Foot Over Bridges (FOBs) along the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway in Udhampur district.
Officials told that the multi-crore project has been sanctioned to enhance pedestrian safety on the busy highway stretch.
The FOBs are proposed to be constructed at Jakhani, Bali Nallah, Samroli PMGSY crossing, Ghantwal, Dharamthal and Champeri.
The bridges aim to provide safe and convenient crossing facilities for pedestrians, especially at locations witnessing heavy movement of local residents and pilgrims, and will help in reducing accidents along the corridor.
