Kupwara, September 10: BJP Media Incharge Kashmir and Prabhari BJP Kupwara, Adv. Sajid Yousuf Shah, has expressed deep sorrow over the devastating fire incident in Warnow, Lolab, which gutted several shops and left local traders facing heavy losses.
Expressing solidarity with the affected shopkeepers and their families, Shah said the incident has taken away not just shops and property, but the means of livelihood of families who have worked hard to build their businesses. He said the loss is particularly painful for those who have invested their savings or taken loans to establish their shops and support their families.
He urged the District Administration Kupwara and the government to immediately assess the losses & provide adequate compensation and relief to all those affected by the fire.
For a small shopkeeper, a shop is much more than a business it is the source of income for an entire family. Losing it overnight is heartbreaking and can put a family under immense financial pressure. The affected traders need our support at this difficult time, and I appeal to the administration to ensure that relief and compensation reach them without delay, Shah said.
He also called upon the government to sanction a dedicated Fire and Emergency Services station at Warnow on an urgent basis, saying that the absence of adequate firefighting infrastructure in the area has remained a serious concern.
