JAMMU, Oct 9: Northern Railway has cancelled four trains operating from Jammu Division to New Delhi in view of anticipated severe road traffic congestion around New Delhi and Hazrat Nizamuddin railway stations on October 10, urging passengers to make alternative travel arrangements to avoid inconvenience.
The cancelled trains include three services operating between Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra and New Delhi, and the Jammu Tawi–New Delhi Rajdhani Express. The decision has been taken as a precautionary measure in anticipation of traffic-related difficulties in the national capital.
According to the Railway Administration, the affected trains will not operate from their originating stations on October 9, 2026.
The three cancelled services between Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra and New Delhi are Train No. 12446, scheduled to depart at 7:50 pm; Train No. 04082, scheduled to depart at 9 pm; and Train No. 22462, scheduled to depart at 11:25 pm.
The fourth cancelled service is Train No. 12426 Rajdhani Express, which operates between Jammu Tawi and New Delhi and was scheduled to depart at 9:25 pm.
The cancellation of these services is likely to affect passengers travelling from Jammu and the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra region to the national capital, particularly those who had booked tickets for journeys scheduled for Friday evening and night.
The Railway Administration has advised passengers to check the latest status of their trains before proceeding to railway stations and plan their journeys accordingly. Travellers have also been urged to remain attentive to official announcements regarding train operations and make alternative arrangements wherever necessary.
To facilitate passengers and minimise inconvenience, help desks have been established at all important railway stations. Information regarding the cancellations is also being disseminated continuously through public announcement systems to keep passengers informed about the changes.
