Srinagar, October 9: The Jammu and Kashmir Police are likely to undergo a major reshuffle, with more than 100 officers, including those holding the ranks of Superintendent of Police (SP), Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Deputy Inspector General (DIG) and Inspector General (IG), expected to be affected.
According to sources cited by Kashmir Dot Com, the proposed reshuffle may involve transfers and postings at various levels of the police hierarchy, with several districts likely to get new police heads.
The changes are expected to cover key field and administrative positions across Jammu and Kashmir.
However, the final list of officers and their new postings is awaited.
The reshuffle, once formally ordered, is expected to bring changes to police leadership in several districts and other important formations.
No official transfer order confirming the proposed reshuffle was available at the time of filing this report.
