SRINAGAR, Oct 31: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Saturday set social media abuzz after sharing a personal update confirming his marriage to renowned senior journalist Nidhi Razdan, marking a new chapter in their lives.
Taking to X, Abdullah shared photographs of the two alongside the caption, “A new journey began yesterday Nidhi”. The accompanying ring emoji and reference to a new beginning drew widespread attention, with the announcement indicating that the marriage had taken place on Friday, October 30.
The announcement prompted an outpouring of congratulatory messages and renewed public interest in the association between Abdullah and Razdan, who have been seen together on several public occasions over the past few years. Razdan attended Abdullah’s swearing-in ceremony in October 2024, while the two were also associated with a gathering at Kashmir House in New Delhi in 2025.
Their most recent reported public appearance together was at the International Film Festival of Jammu and Kashmir in Srinagar in September 2026.
The personal milestone comes amid a politically eventful period for Abdullah, whose government recently underwent a Cabinet expansion against the backdrop of reported internal discontent within the ruling National Conference. The coming days will also witness the annual Darbar Move, scheduled for November 3.
Abdullah’s social media announcement has since attracted widespread attention, with congratulatory messages pouring in following the news of his marriage to Razdan.
