Manasbal (Ganderbal), 01 Nov: The Indian Army today inaugurated the *Chinar Centre of Educational Excellence – Kashmir Super-30 (KS-30)* at Manasbal, Ganderbal, as part of its initiative to empower youth of J&K through quality education and equal opportunities.

The centre was jointly inaugurated by *Ms Shreya Singhal, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Ganderbal*, along with a parent of one of the selected students, in the presence of senior Army officials, representatives of NIEDO, parents and students of the inaugural batch.

The ceremony included unveiling of the foundation stone, lighting of the ceremonial lamp, addresses by dignitaries, interaction with students and parents, and a tour of the newly established campus.

The initiative reflects the *Indian Army’s commitment towards education, youth empowerment and nation-building* in J&K. It builds upon the success of Kashmir Super-30 (Engineering), Kashmir Super-30 (Medical) and Kashmir Super-50 programmes, which have enabled students from the region to pursue higher education in reputed institutions across the country.

The newly established campus has comprehensive residential and academic facilities, incl hostel accommodation, modern classrooms, cookhouse, dining hall, library-cum-computer laboratory and other essential amenities. The Army will provide *security, supervision and continuous monitoring* to ensure a safe and disciplined learning environment.

*Kashmir Super-30* is a *completely free, fully residential coaching and mentoring programme* for talented students from economically weaker backgrounds aspiring to pursue careers in medicine and engineering. A total of *30 deserving boys from different districts of J&K* have been selected for the inaugural batch through a transparent, merit-based process.

The selection process involved outreach across schools in Kashmir, followed by a written examination at multiple centres across the Valley. Candidates subsequently underwent aptitude assessment, psychological screening and personal interviews under Army supervision. The selected students represent different districts, with emphasis on providing opportunities to youth from rural, remote, hilly and border areas.

The programme will provide:
• Coaching for *NEET, JEE and allied competitive examinations* by experienced full-time faculty.
• Structured study material, regular assessments and mock tests.
• Free boarding, lodging and nutritious meals.
• Study kits, bedding and access to a well-equipped library and computer laboratory.
• Mentoring, personality development, leadership and communication skills, counselling and wellness support.

Addressing the gathering, the Army representative highlighted that the initiative reflects the Army’s commitment to nurturing the talent and potential of J&K’s youth. The centre will provide students with academic resources, guidance and an enabling environment to realise their aspirations and contribute to society.

*Ms Shreya Singhal, IAS, DC Ganderbal*, appreciated the initiative and lauded the Indian Army’s efforts towards educational empowerment and community welfare. She emphasised the importance of creating opportunities for talented students from economically weaker sections and assured the support of the civil administration.

The ceremony also witnessed interaction with parents, who expressed gratitude to the Indian Army for providing their children an opportunity to pursue quality education and professional coaching, which may otherwise have remained beyond their financial means.

The programme is a *Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative of Armoured Vehicles Nigam Limited (AVNL), a Ministry of Defence PSU*, which is funding the inaugural batch. The Indian Army is the facilitating agency, providing the campus, infrastructure, security, supervision and monitoring. *NIEDO is the training partner*, responsible for academic delivery, administration and day-to-day functioning of the centre.

Regular academic classes for *Batch I (Academic Year 2026–27)* will commence on *01 Nov 2026*.

The inauguration of the Chinar Centre of Educational Excellence – Kashmir Super-30 marks another milestone in the Indian Army’s partnership with the people of J&K. By investing in the aspirations of young students, the initiative aims to transform potential into achievement and contribute towards a progressive, educated and prosperous Jammu & Kashmir.

The Indian Army remains committed to nurturing young minds, empowering communities and building a brighter future for the youth of Jammu & Kashmir.
