Ladakh: The Draw of Lots for Women’s Reservation in the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC), Leh, was held on Friday, 6th November 2026, at 9:30 AM in the Conference Hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Leh.
The proceedings were held in the presence of Shri Sudhanshu Pandey, IAS (Retd.), Common Election Commissioner, Union Territory of Ladakh.
Through the draw of lots, 8 out of the 22 seats in LAHDC, Leh, were identified for reservation for women, in accordance with the prescribed reservation procedure.
Simultaneously, draws of lots for women’s reservation were also conducted in the other districts of the Union Territory of Ladakh. The proceedings from these districts were connected virtually, ensuring coordination and transparency across the UT.
During the proceedings Shri Romil Singh Donk IAS, DC Leh and other officials were present.
Representatives of the Indian National Congress (INC) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) were also present during the proceedings.
