Rotational HQ is Genuine
The demand of people of Kargil district supported a cross section of society across Kashmir valley is not only genuine but justified as well. The committee formed by the state government to take a decision on addressing these demands is mere a delaying tactic till the tempers cool in Kargil district.
Political support in favour of these demands by various political parties is appreciable and the Governor led administration must take into consideration all the voices at an earliest. Before taking the decision to grant divisional status to Ladakh, the government should have taken note of the sentiments of the people of Leh and Kargil districts accordingly.
Not only these two districts only but the government should have tried to address the similar demands of people of Chenab Valley and Pir Panchal regions who share the similar topographical issues. The inhabitants of Chenab Valley and Pir Panchal region have always voiced their similar concerns to the successive regimes in Jammu and Kashmir but to no avail.
Now the government must immediately order rotational divisional headquarters to be established in both the districts of Ladkah so that the people of Kargil do not feel isolated or discriminated unnecessarily.
