People participated in huge number for second day of Back to Village at Shopian. DDC visited several Panchayats.

Shopian: The second day of back to villages was celebrated with great zeal and enthusiasm in the respective panchayats at Shopian. Gram Sabha was held in all panchayats and social audit committee was also constituted.

On this day, District Development Commissioner Shopian Dr. Owais Ahmed along with other district officers visited several panchayat halqas and addressed huge public gathering. During this day grand melas were also organised at several different panchayats where officials from Horticulture, Agriculture, Animal and Sheep Husbandry department, Social welfare department, Handloon and Handicraft department installed their stalls and made public aware about the ongoing schemes in the district.

Besides heath camps were organised at various villages and sports kits was also distributed to the students by Youth Service and Sports department during in the melas.

During the visit of DDC, the people of these panchayat halqas apprised him about various issues and greviences being faced by them. The people project a number of issues on the occasion and sort their immediate redressal some people meet the DDC and raised other developmental issues of their respective areas.

    DDC gave a patient hearing to the people and said that all their genuine demands putforth will be looked into and redressed as soon as possible and at an earliest. Some issues were resolved on the spot.

People of these panchayats welcomed the initiative of State Government and many of them said that it was for the first time that an officer had spent two days with them.
