Weather to remain dry till December 19: MeT

The weather is likely to improve on Sunday after days of rains and snowfall, said an official from Meteorological department Kashmir.

An official said that weather is likely to improve in Kashmir from today. Dry weather is expected to continue till December 19.

He said the night’s lowest temperature in Srinagar was 0.5 degree Celsius while the mercury in Qazigund in south Kashmir settled at a low of minus 0.3 degrees Celsius.

Gulmarg, the famous skiing resort in north Kashmir, recorded a low of minus 11.3 degrees Celsius.

The night temperature in Pahalgam – the famous health resort which also serves as one of the base camps for the annual Amarnath Yatra – settled at a low of minus 5.4 degrees.

Kokernag town recorded a low of minus 5.4 degrees Celsius while Kupwara town in north Kashmir registered a low of 0.4 degrees Celsius last night.

Jammu city recorded 5.8 degrees Celsius, Katra town 5.3, Batote minus 2.6, Banihal minus 4.8 and Bhaderwah minus 0.5 degrees as the minimum temperatures.
