India got ‘Kashmirised’ after stoking fire, says jailed Mehbooba

Date:

Srinagar, Dec 16 : The incarcerated former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chief, Mehbooba Mufti on Monday said that India got ‘Kashmirised’ after the government stoked fire.

Probably reacting to the protests over the implementation of Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB), Mehbooba as per the wire service—in a tweet said that the government was trying to ‘Indianise’ Kashmir, but they stoked the fire and ‘Kashmirised’ India.

“They thought they’d ‘Indianise’ Kashmir. They stoked fires that ‘Kashmirised’ India instead,” Mehbooba tweet.

The official twitter handle of Mehbooba is currently being used by her daughter, who has been entitled by her mother to react on behalf of her.

The former chief minister is under detention since August 5, when the central government abrogated the special status of Jammu and Kashmir (Article 370) and bifurcated the erstwhile State into two Union Territories.

Mehbooba is among the mainstream leaders including the two other former chief ministers—Dr. Farooq Abdullah and his son Omar Abdullah who have been kept under detention to maintain law and Order. Dr. Abdullah, however, has been booked under Public Safety Act (PSA).
