Srinagar, Mar 12 : Overnight rains continued on Thursday in Kashmir Valley, causing water-logging in several parts of this summer capital of the J&K.
The rains started last night, bringing maximum temperature considerable down and also caused Water-logging at several places. At some places, the pedestrians had to wade through ankle-height water, reports said.
As meteorological department official said Srinagar recorded rainfall of 12.6 mm of rainfall from 0830 hours (March 11) to 5:30 hours on Thursday. He said the summer capital recorded day temperature of 4.6 degree Celsius on Thursday against 11.6 degree Celsius on Wednesday.
The official said Qazigund, Kokernag and Pahalgam in south Kashmir received 16.6mm, 14.6 and 14.4mm downpour respectively since 0830 hours till 1730 hours today.
Kupwara district in north Kashmir received the highest rainfall in the valley, recording 19.4 mm of rain during the time.
While rains lashed plains, higher reaches including world famous Ski resort of Gulmarg accumulated fresh albeit small amount of snowfall.
A report from Jammu region said that the winter capital and other districts also received rainfall.
Meanwhile MeT office has forecasted more rainfall in next 24hours.
