Sopore, April 19 : As Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Sunday recorded fresh positive case of COVID-19 infection, police with health authorities began tracing of residents who may have come in contact with the victim.
An official told Kashmir Despatch that a team of doctors, medical assistants along with police visited the Botingoo Sopore and instructed the family, other inhabitants of village to be under self quarantine to prevent spread of the infection in the area.
A health official talking with this newspaper said we have collected details of neighbours who may have came in contact with the victim. The officer said we have also guided people to follow the procedural protocol as it is only for their safety.
A police official when contacted told, we have started tracking down the people who were in contact or may have came close in contact with the victim. Officer said there is no need to panic as victim was already under quarantine and was following the directions of medical authorities, but it’s a responsibility of people to follow the protocols.
Pertinently, Sopore on Sunday recorded 12 positive case of COVID-19 when a 20 year old Baker with a travel history of Nizamuddin New Delhi was reported positive.
