Srinagar, April 26 : Four militants were killed in an encounter with security forces in South Kashmir’s Kulgam village this evening.
Reports reaching Kashmir Despatch said forces launched a cordon and search operation in the Guddar village of Kulgam on Sunday evening after getting information about the presence of militants.
Reports said the militants, who were hiding, opened fire at the forces, who retaliated, triggering a gun battle.
A police officer while confirming to this newspaper said Four militants were killed in the operation, while a soldier recieved injuries in the gunfight. He said their identification is yet to ascertained. He added that Operation is underway.
Meanwhile Police in a tweet also confirmed about the killing of four militants in the encounter at Kulgam.
