Srinagar, April 30 : Around 219 stranded Kashmiri labourers and students left Punjab for Jammu and Kashmir on early Thursday.
An official told Kashmir Despatch second bath of students and stranded labourers left Punjab for their home towns by 7 buses and 8 personal vehicles at wee hours of Thursday. He said they left in buses after J&K Govt. along with Punjab Govt. facilitate them amid the COVID-19 lockdown. The official further added they are expected to reach home tomorrow.
At least 400 students from parts of Punjab, had already reached their home towns from Kota, which is known for its coaching centers to prepare students for competitive exams, in the last two days after CM Rajasthan Ashok Gehlot, JK Govt.’s Spokesperson Rohit Kansal and DC Srinagar Shahid Iqbal Chowdary intervene and making arrangement of transport for their safe return.
Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Students Association Spokesperson Nasir Khuehami told Kashmir Despatch that efforts are on for making arrangements of transport for the students who are stuck in other parts.
