Srinagar: The government of Jammu and Kashmir has appealed stranded laborers and students to not move without the prior consent of the administration of Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

The government’s spokesperson, Rohit Kansal, said that the government will be coming up with standard operating procedures to facilitate the movement of stranded laborers and students.

Yesterday, the Ministry of Home Affairs had allowed inter-state movement of stranded tourists, pilgrims, students, and migrant workers.

According to the order issued by the ministry, state governments will make arrangements and buses will be used, after reaching their destination, such persons to stay in home quarantine unless assessment by local authorities.

“The moving person would be screened and those found asymptomatic would be allowed to proceed,” state the order.

Kansal also added that all unregulated arrivals would be quarantined for twenty-one days in Lakhanpur.

Currently, the country is locked down till 3 May to contain the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.
