After hours break, guns again roar along LoC in Uri

Baramulla, May 04 : Indo-Pak armies yet again trade gunfire along the Line of Control (LoC) in Uri sector of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on late Monday evening.

Reports reaching Kashmir Despatch said morning of Monday for border residents started with cross border shelling and now ended on same note as both neighbours again exchanged gunfire along line of control LOC in Uri sector.

An official told Pakistani troops initiated ceasefire violation at around 9 : 30 PM late this evening by firing small arms and shelling with mortars along the LoC in Salikote, Churunda sector.

He said the Indian army gave a befitting reply to Pakistani aggression and intermittent firing and shelling is underway.

Earlier this day India and Pakistan armies trade fire in Hajipeer sector of border town Uri.

Last week two soldiers were killed, two were injured after Pakistan army Voilated ceasefire in Rampur sector of Uri.

While in the same day in another incident, A four-year-old child was among three civilians injured in Churnada village in cross border shelling.

The injured were identified as Tahira Begum, 20; Shanaz Akhter, 12; and four-year old Tawseef Ahmad.

Two residential houses were also damaged in the shelling.
