Baramulla, May 19: The authorities in Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday evening buried both the militants killed in Srinagar gunfight at Sheeri Gantmulla area in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
Official sources told Kashmir Despatch, that the decision not to give away the bodies was taken in view of the coronavirus pandemic.
They said that after medico-legal formalities both the bodies were moved down northern belt and buried late this evening at Sheeri graveyard.
Locals sources also confirmed to this newspaper and said that police and some locals dug two graves in a graveyard at Gantamulla Baramulla along the Srinagar-Baramulla highway after receiving information from police.
Earlier during a joint presser, Director General of Police Dilbagh Singh identified the slain militants as Junaid Sehrai son of Separatist leader Ashraf Sehrai and Tariq Ahmad Shiekh a resident of Pulwama in South Kashmir.
Pertinently, Since this pandemic outbreak as many as militants killed in parts of Kashmir division including a physically challenged boy from Handwara were buried in Baramulla to avoid any gatherings and apperhensions of spread of the deadly disease.
