Indo-Pak armies trade fire along LoC in Uri

Srinagar, Jun 12 : The armies of India and Pakistan on Friday exchanged fire along the Line of Control in Uri sector of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

A defense official told Kashmir Despatch that Pakistan army resorted to “unprovoked fire” along the Line of Control in Hajipeer sector and Chrunda area of Uri. “The soldiers manning the fence are responding the fire strongly”, the official said.

However, there were no immediate reports about damage to life or the property on either side.

A local resident also confirmed to Kashmir Despatch about this cross border shelling said that panic gripped in the areas after both neighbours exchanged gunfire again today along LOC.

A police officer said that firing from both sides is on, however no loss of life or injury has been reported sofar.
