Army destroys two live mortar shells in Uri

Srinagar, June 24 : Army’s Bomb Disposal Squards on Tuesday destroyed two live mortar shells in Nambla area of Uri sector in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

An army official told Kashmir Despatch, that last week Pakistan army fired a number of mortar shells along the line of control (LOC) in Hajipeer sector of Uri in which two shells landed in a Nambla village but did not explode. He said both shells were successfully destroyed by a bomb disposal squad of Army without causing harm to anyone on Tuesday afternoon.

Pertinently, a woman was killed and five others suffered injuries sofar in an exchange of fire between the two armies along with the sector this month.
