Srinagar, July 16: Private Schools Association of Jammu and Kashmir (PSAJK) today expressed their heartfelt condolences on the demise of Chairman Elite Co-ed Higher Secondary School Ishber, Nishat Mushtaq Ahmad Shah and Chairman High Land School Pandan, Nowhatta Ab Ghaffar Shawl, mother of journalist Rameez Makhdoomi and mother of Dr Ab Hamid Wani, Dr Masarat Iqbal (BMO Bandipora) and Ab. Rashid Wani of Goshbugh Pattan.
The Association in a condolence meeting prayed for the departed souls and courage for the bereaved families. “During this week we have lost those precious lives whose place will be hard to fill,” said G N Var president PSAJK.
“Chairman Elite Co-ed Higher Secondary School Ishber Mushtaq Ahmad Shah Sahab and Chairman High Land School Pandan Ab Ghaffar Shawl Sahab were educationists par excellence who went out of their way to provide quality education to students. They have left their legacy in the shape of their brilliant educational institutes which will serve the society for a long time to come.”
The Association also expressed their sympathies with Rameez Makhdoomi over the loss of his mother. The meeting also condoled with Dr Ab Hamid Wani, Dr Masarat Iqbal (BMO Bandipora) and Ab. Rashid Wani of Goshbugh Pattan over the loss of their mother. The participants prayed to Allah that the departed souls be granted highest place in Jannat.
Meanwhile, the Association lambasted the administration over the failure to strengthen the healthcare system. “Unfortunately our healthcare system is broken and this has resulted in an increase in the number of deaths. The deaths due to COVID get highlighted but the deaths due to other small ailments go unnoticed,” said Var. “Those who have to visit hospitals are expressing their horror stories every day. It seems the system has crumbled and people have nowhere to go. Simple patients are being shown in doors from multiple hospitals. People don’t know here to go.”
The Association called on the government to investigate the conduct of various doctors who have deserted their posts amidst this emergency.
“What COVID attendants and people, in general, are saying that the entire system seems to be run by some brave heart junior doctors.
At many places the senior doctors have simply abandoned their duties. They don’t bother to check on the patients.
The added rude attitude is now common even among junior medical staff. We have already witnessed patients dying due to lack of doctors and medical staff,” said Var.
“The government should crack its whip on such irresponsible medical staff. There needs to be extra accountability. If the things go as such then God forbid we are staring at a major crisis.”
