EDI employees protest against alleged harrassment

Date:

Pampore: Employees of the Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) on Wednesday protested against the alleged highhandedness and harrassment of the incumbent Director.

United under the banner of JKEDI Employees Welfare Association (JKEDIEWA), hundreds of the employees today started their pen-down strike against the recent decisions of the Director of the institute and have decided to continue the strike till the authorities intervene and take cognizance of the matter.

In a statement issued here, JKEDIEWA spokesperson alleged that the incumbent Director is hand in glove with some officials having nefarious designs against the institute.

The spokesperson further said that the Director since his posting in the institute has been issuing dictatorial orders and is trying to tarnish the image of the dynamic institute credited with creating favourable environment for creation of jobs in the Union Territory of J&K for last more than 13 years now.

The spokesperson condemned the negative attitude of the Director saying that he has been making all efforts to derail the system in place at JKEDI, which he said will have a detrimental effect on the unemployed youth of Jammu and Kashmir.

He said the employees will continue their pen-down strike till justice is delivered.
