Srinagar, August 04: Two policemen and a sarpanch were injured in two separate militant attacks in the southern region of Kashmir on Tuesday evening.
An official told Kashmir Despatch that suspected gunmen attacked a police party at Wanpora area of Pulwama this evening by hurling a grenade.
He said in the attack two cops were injured and both were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
A police officer also confirmed to this newspaper and identified as as HC Khurhsid Ahmad & SPO Ishfaq Ahmad.
The officer however said both are said to be stable.
Meanwhile, in another militant attack, a sarpanch identified as Asif Ahmad Mir was injured.
Reports reaching this newspaper said militants fired upon a sarpanch at Mir Bazar area of Kulgam. However, he was rushed to the hospital for treatment.
The area has been sealed by security forces to nab the attackers.
