Govt issues Guidelines Instructions for opening of Public Transport in UT J&K

Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir government has issued guidelines and instructions for opening of public transport in Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

In an order copy which lies with Kashmir Despatch reads, In continuation to Government order NO. 27-JK(TR) of 2020 dated 07-06- 2020 and in conjunction with Govt. order NO. 74-JK(DMRRR) of 2020 dated 04.08.2020 issued by Chairperson, State Executive Committee, the inter district routes forming Annexure A to this Order, in Orange and Green Districts, in the UT of Jammu and Kashmir are notified for plying Of all public passenger transport vehicles (buses & mini-buses and not maxi cabs).

Inter district routes forming Annexure B to this Order in Red Districts in the UT of Jammu and Kashmir are also notified for plying of JKSRTC buses only.

Buses and Mini-Buses, (Stage and Carriage Vehicles), wherever permitted by SEC, shall carry passengers not more than 50% of their authorised seating capacity incase Of 2×2 seater Buses/Mini Buses and 2/3rd of their authorised seating capacity in case of 3×2 seater Buses.

All the instructions enshrined in the SOP notified vide Government Order NO. 27-3K (TR) of 2020 dated 07-06-2020 have to be followed in letter and spirit while Operatng the public transport.

Any deviation shall attract action as envisaged in the Government Order NO. 61-3K (DMRRR) of 2020 dated 07-06-2020 of the Chairperson, State Executive Committee the order copy reads.
