Kupwara, August 07 : Three civilians were injured in a cross border shelling in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Friday.
Official sources told Kashmir Despatch that exchange of fire took place between India and Pakistan armies on LoC in Kupwara.
During the exchange of fire three civilians were injured, who were identified as Mohammad Arif, Mohammad Yaqoob Mir and Rafaqar. While as injured civilians have been referred to hospital for treatment.
A police officer also confirmed about the injuries of three civilians in cross border shelling to Kashmir Despatch and said all are undergoing treatment at a local hospital and the condition of trio is said to be stable.
Meanwhile, Srinagar based army Spokesperson Rajesh Kalia in a statement issued to Kashmir Despatch said “Pakistan initiated an Unprovoked Ceasefire Violation (CFV) today early morning along the LoC in Naugam Sector, Kupwara by firing Mortars and other weapons. Befitting response is being given.”
Pertinently, Armies of India and Pakistan early Friday exchanged intense fire along the LoC in Boniyar area of Baramulla district.
