Shopian, August 09: Police in South Kashmir’s Shopian district on Sunday sounded an alert after a car was stolen by unknown persons in the district.
A police officer told Kashmir Despatch that a four-wheeler Scorpio Car bearing registration number (CH 048 1767) was lifted from Tak Mohalla Shopian on Saturday night. A case in this regard has been registered and an alert has been sounded, he said.
The official said further investigations into the case has set into motion.
Pertinently, A week after the incident of abduction of a Territorial Army (TA) soldier by suspected militants, an unverified audio message had surfaced today morning in which the speaker claims to be militant, without identifying himself, claims to have abducted and killed the soldier.
Militant in the audio says “we understand the pain of soldier’s family/friends, but we didn’t return his body to avoid coronavirus spread in his funeral. So, we performed his last rites, just like Indian forces deny our bodies to our families, bury us in unmarked graves reported a local news agency KDC.
