Jk COVID fatalities rises to 550

Srinagar, August 16: Sharp rise in COVID-19 fatalities in the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir as 13 more persons became victim of this virus on Sunday.
An official told Kashmir Despatch that 13 COVID-19 patients died during the last 24 hours in J&K. He said all the fatalities were reported from Kashmir Division.
He said among the fresh victims including a 75-year-old man from Ellahibagh Srinagar, a 60-year-old woman from Rainawari Srinagar, a 55-year-old woman from Laripora Pahalgam, a 55-year-old man from Budgam, a 75-year-old man from Alamgari Bazar Srinagar, a 53-year-old man from Soura, a 75-year-old man from Wakura Ganderbal, a 95-year-old woman from Buchpora Srinagar, a 75-year-old man from Tulmula Ganderbal, a 65-year-old woman from Narbal, a 60-year-old woman from Tral Pulwama, a 70-year-old woman from Pampore Pulwama and a 65-year-old woman from Pampore Pulwama.
The COVID death toll rose to 550 in Jammu and Kashmir including 509 from Kashmir division and 41 from Jammu division.
Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday reported 449 new positive cases of novel Corona virus (COVID-19), 100 from Jammu division and 349 from Kashmir division, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 28470.
Moreover, 267 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals, 97 from Jammu Division and 170 from Kashmir Division.
The active positive cases now stands at 6985, 20943 have recovered.
