Srinagar, Sep 01 : Abass Malik founder and Chairman of Hamdard Society put forth a demand before UT administration to construct a motorable bridge connecting national highway at Gagarkote kalai on war footing basis.As hundreds of people are forced to cross the river suran by foot on daily basis even during the rainy days when river water flows above the danger mark.Precious lives of the people are always on high risk.Its pertinent to mention here that for the people of the said area there is no bridge over the river to reach home except Madana bridge which lies four KM back at Madana Haribuda link road and it took almost a full day to travel back to home via this bridge.
As a large chunk of population is residing in the adjoining areas of Gagarkote which is in dire need of a bridge at the mentioned location.In this context the concerned authorities are very humbly requested to initiate the construction process at the earliest.
