Arms, ammunition recovered along LoC in Jammu’s Akhnoor

Consignment believed to be airdropped from a drone, say officials

Jammu, Sep 22 : Security forces in Jammu’s Akhnoor sub division Tuesday recovered consignment of arms and ammunition suspected to have been air dropped in an area inside Line of Control in the area.

Officials told news agency that joint teams of army and police headed by SDPO Akhnoor Ajay Sharma launched a Cordon and Search Operation in Akhnoor area, several kilometres inside LoC.

“The area is located at the point where LoC and IB join each other,” said officials.

They added that during operation, a well packed bag was recovered with 2 AK assault rifles, 3 AK magazines, 90 AK bullets, 2 Pistols and pistol magazines alongwith bullets have been recovered from the bag, which is believed to be airdropped with a drone at LoC.

“Operation in the area and further investigation into the matter is going on,” said an official—(KNO)
