Sirhama Gunfight : Fresh firing resumes

Ananthnag, Sep 24: Fresh firing resumed between militants and government forces in Srihama area of South Kashmir’s Ananthnag district late this evening.

An official told Kashmir Despatch that fresh firing resumed at the gunfight site, however, no militant has been killed sofar.

The officer said more reinforcement has been rushed to the spot.

Earlier, a joint team of Army’s 03 RR, SOG and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation at Srihama area of Ananthnag.

The search operation turned into gunfight after hidding militants fired upon them.

Pertinently, this is second gunfight in a single day in southern region of Kashmir.

Earleir in the day a local militant of Al-Badr militant outfit was killed in Tral gunfight.
