SRINAGAR, Oct 1: The Hajin-Spore road is in shambles and the residents of the area are eagerly waiting for the administration to pay some heed to their long pending demand for repair of this road which is causing immense sufferings to the commuters especially patients.
“Since last 15 years the administration has miserably failed to black top this dilapidated road. The road as you can see presents a pathetic look craving for the attention of the government,” locals told this reporter of Kashmir Despatch while visiting Hajin.
The busy road from Hajin to Sopore has been completely ignored by the concerned authorities and is giving a tough time to locals of this area, said a native of Hajin Sajad Ahmad.
“Authorities are not bothering to repair this damaged road which acts as an important connecting link for Hajin to Sopore to the thousands of families living this area. The road is dotted with huge potholes and there seems nobody in the administration who would take care of this basic amenities problem,” he added.
Another resident of Shahgund Abdul Gaffar while talking to this reporter said that he did not remember now when this road was repaired by the administration last time. He added that time and again they have visited the concerned department for the repair of this road but never has anybody paid any attention to their pleas.
“The road is in a bad condition. Big pot holes filled with water can be seen in the middle of the road, making the movement of people very difficult,” an elderly person Mohammad Ramzan told Kashmir Despatch at Hajin.
He said this road connects the inhabitants of Hajin to Sopore fruit market but its dilapidated condition has always given tough time to the orchardists and farmers equally. The residents of this have urged the governor led administration to look into the matter and address the woes of people living in Hajin and its adjoining areas,” the local appealed.
