Bandipora, Dec 29, : Former MLA Bandipora and JKAP Vice President Usman Majid on Tuesday said that the decision of Election Commission to stop the vote counting of two PoK origin candidates in North Kashmir is by no means a good decision, adding that Election Commission (EC) should immediately start the counting process for both the seats.
Usman Majid said,”PoK is an integral part of this country, of which the resolution has also been passed in the Parliament of India. I don’t understand what provoked the EC to stop the vote count on both the seats. If the documents of these candidates were incomplete then how did the EC accept their nominations and issued them the polling symbols.”
Usman said that people have voted in favour of these candidates, adding that he is hopeful that ECI will show a positive approach towards the issue and andwill start the vote count process on both the seats soon.
He also lashed out at Peoples Alliance for Gupkar Decleration (PAGD) saying that its leaders have always indulged in politics of exploitation, adding that Gupkar leaders should refrain from playing double standards.
“If a person joins the alliance of PAGD then it is well and good and if the same person joins Apni Party then it is horse trading. This is how Gupkar leaders are playing double standards,” he added. (KDC)
