GANDERBAL : District Police Ganderbal continuing its efforts to eradicate drug abuse from the society and acted stringent against drug peddlers & its propagators.
In a statement issued to Kashmir Despatch police said on the directions of SSP Ganderbal Khalil Ahmad Poswal-JKPS, a snap naka was established at Wakoora led by DO Shadipora SI Gulzar Hussain.
During naka checking 01 suspicious person tried to ferry away after he noticed the Police naka checking ahead, this act put alarm to the naka party and finally Police party chased him.
The said individual was immediately put on search and During the course of search a consignment of 2 KG Bung Patri (cannabis like material) has been recovered from his possession.
The said consignment has been seized and the said accused namely Tanveer Ahmad Bhat S/o Mohd Altaf R/o Wakoora age 22 years has been apprehended on spot.
Accordingly a case FIR No. 11/2021 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act stands registered in P/S Ganderbal and investigation taken up.
Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace the statement further reads.
