Nonagenarian from Karnah Found Dead Inside SDH Kupwara

Death Likely Because off Prevailing Chill, Says Police

Kupwara, Feb 03: Body of a 90-year-old person from Karnah Tanghdar was found inside Sub-District Hospital Kupwara on Wednesday morning.

SHO Bazaar Post, Nazir Ahmad said that the nonagenarian is believed to have entered the health facility to take shelter amid prevailing chill on preceding night.

“However the body was found at the health facility by attendants of other patients this morning”, the official said adding that “the cause of death is likely because of prevailing chilly weather conditions.”

Identifying the deceased as Raj Mohammed Ghorsi
son of Kaloo Ghorsi residence Amrohi, Karnah, the official said that the body lies with the police and will be sent to his actual residence after conduct of medico-legal formalities.

“We have recovered an amount of rupees seventy-thousand from possession of the deceased man”, the official added.

Pertinent to mention here that body of a mentally challenged person from Hazratbal Srinagar was found at Naunagri in south-Kashmir’s Pulwama district earlier this morning. (GNS)
