Baramulla : The Peoples Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) on Monday afternoon walked out of the District Development Council (DDC) Election process for Chairperson in North Kashmirs Baramulla district.
Reports reaching Kashmir Despatch said, the authorities had called for DDC Chairperson elections today. While the Jammu and Kashmirs Apni Party and Peoples Conference had supported Safeena Beigh for the Chairperson seat, however, it didn’t go well with the PAGD.
Sources said that the PAGD had called for the meeting before the commence of elections, where senior leaders they decided not to participate in the elections.
A senior leader from PAGD confirmed to Kashmir Despatch that the alliance has walked out as things are not going well with the election process.
It is pertinent to mention here that Altaf Bukharis Apni Party won the DDC Chairperson seat in Srinagar and Shopian district, while CPI (M) won the Chairperson seat in Kulgam district.
