19% Hike In Fare Still Lesser Than Our Neighbouring States: LG

Date:

Srinagar, Feb 24 : Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha, on Wednesday said even with 19 percent hike, transport fare in J&K still remains lesser than our neighbouring states.

“Keeping in mind the interest of both the Transporters as well as the people of J&K, issues of Transporters have been resolved amicably. As a result, Transporters have decided to call off their proposed indefinite strike,” he said in a tweet.

“As per past practice, annual revision of 10 percent hike in the transport fare was pending for the last 3 years. Even with the 19 percent hike, transport fare in J&K still remains lesser than our neighbouring states,” he added.
