Administration must respond with a felicitous line of action: Abhay Bakaya
SRINAGAR, March 03: Apni Party Youth General Secretary Abhay Bakaya on Thursday raised serious concerns over the rising unemployment rates in J&k. He urged the government to devise a comprehensive strategy to counter this ominous trend.
“The rising unemployment rates have pushed the youth in J&K towards depression, alienation and drug addiction. The Government must act in this regard at an earliest so that our young and adroit generation is saved from destruction,” Abhay Bakaya remarked.
He said that reports from the Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy (CMIE) have suggested that Jammu and Kashmir has the second-worst unemployment rate among all the states/union territories in the country.
“This is a matter of great concern to which the present administration must respond with a felicitous line of action,” he demanded.
Abhay Bakaya further said: “Much has been lost to the violence and post-pandemic economic stagnation in J&k. Our youth are now longing for peace, economic development and lucrative job opportunities.”
He requested the Hon’ble Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha to introduce a new comprehensive Skill Development program for the youth of Jammu and Kashmir so that they are engaged in purposeful activities which will help them to support their families in the long run.
“I implore the Hon’ble Lt. Governor of JK to consider this matter of grave concern. Besides, commencement of rapid industrialisation and multiple skill development training programs will prove highly beneficial for the welfare of our talented and energetic youth,” he pleaded.
